Faster delivery day confirmation for 2MB+ PPCs: new process on test

Customers who place orders for highband Partial Private Circuits (PPCs) can look forward to getting earlier notice of the delivery date.

That's the plan with an initiative launched by the BT Wholesale Service Provision team in February 2009. Responding to industry requests, a new process is now on trial for six months. This is testing the feasibility of consistently giving a FOC (Firm Order Confirmation) at Day 15, rather than at Day 21. And it's hoped that cutting that waiting time could potentially shorten the complete delivery cycle: one of the key improvement commitments in BT Wholesale's Customer Experience programme.

If the test proves successful, the new FOC for PPCs of 2MB and above will go to Ofcom for approval.
