The Loop - The Industry talk that you really want to hear

New site offers satnav for roadmaps

With a satnav on your dashboard, your route ahead’s clear to see on screen whenever you need it.

And that’s also the thinking behind a new website from BT Wholesale, created in response to feedback from customers. Launched on 2 February 2010, it brings together our development plans – our roadmaps – for a wide variety of our products, all in one place. The idea is to make them easier to refer to, compare and track 24/7.

BT Wholesale’s Graham Crane comments: “Customers have told us that they want the bigger picture of what’s going on plus an idea of the timescale for our developments. We know how vital that can be for portfolio planning, sales and marketing so we’re happy to share it through this new channel. We plan to update the roadmaps regularly: about every four weeks.”

“And the site also gives us the opportunity to provide extra information that’s not been available before, all on the same page” Graham adds. “For example, there are links to guide you to where you can find out more: by getting in touch with a product specialist, coming along to a forum or heading elsewhere on the btwholesale.com site.”

The roadmaps currently stretch from Broadband Services and IP Exchange to Wholesale Ethernet – and with many destinations in between. Each one is colour-coded so that you see at a glance what’s new to the portfolio, what’s being trialled, what’s changing and what’s in line for withdrawal. There will also be the opportunity to give your feedback via the blog that will sit on the roadmap site. Your comments and suggestions here will help drive how the site evolves and grows in future.
