Different products, one invoice format: pilot in progress

Buying a variety of connectivity products from BT Wholesale? Life will be getting much simpler when it comes to reconciling your invoices or extracting info from them for internal reports.

That's the plan with the launch of a pilot this July for a new generic bill. Introduced in response to customer requests, this is designed to give the same unified appearance and format for the generic fields, for all bills across a range of products, so that it's easier and quicker to analyse and download data from them. The products included in the project are:

  • WLR 2 and 3 (Wholesale Line Rental)
  • LLU (Local Loop Unbundling) Room and MPF
  • BT IPstream
  • BT IPstream Connect
  • WES (Wholesale Extension Services)
  • BES (Backhaul Extension Services)

A number of customer volunteers are taking part in the pilot. In  July 2009, for a single month, they will be getting their electronic bills in both the existing format and in the new generic format, so that they can compare the differences - and actively experience the advantages of working with the more simplified approach. Their feedback will then steer any necessary refinements. Our plan is to roll-out the new generic bill to all customers of the listed products from the September 2009 invoices.

Commenting on the initiative, BT Wholesale Billing Customer Manager Dianne O'Dean says: "Until now there have been 12 different formats for bills for these products - which is obviously confusing. By sweeping these away and replacing them with one standard bill, we hope we can help customers to save valuable admin time."
