Customer input steers BT Wholesale Ethernet developments

What’s on your wish-list for the evolution of BT Wholesale’s 21st Century Network Ethernet solution? And what are we working on as a result of what you and other customers say?

To keep you in the picture on what’s happening with BT Wholesale Ethernet, we launched a series of events last December – as Felicity Webster from our Industry Engagement team explains: “We started with a live Forum. This gave us the chance to show customers where we are with the product and what’s on the development roadmap for 2010 – plus the chance to find out what their priorities are. As a result of the discussions and feedback gained from this event, we’ve been carrying out a whole programme of activities focused on both improving current service experiences and addressing key product development requirements.

Firstly we held a workshop in January 2010 with a special focus on how we can improve our provision processes, including ‘walkthroughs’ on the new eCo Plus portal. We have also held a number of webcalls during January and February to keep you informed about the improvement projects that are already in hand. Felicity adds: “As one example, customers have told us that they need the delivery of the three parts of an Ethernet circuit to be much more co-ordinated so we’re working on delivering that as well as improving our overall job control processes and updates for customers.”

Felicity continues: “As another example, in the product development area, customers have indicated that a 10GB Etherway service is a real priority for them, so we’ve made it a priority for us too. We’ve already held one customer workshop in February to talk over the pros and cons of the different transport options available and get consensus on what the best solution is to meet varying customer requirements.”
