"Get more involved in system & process plans": London, 17 March 2010

Take the inside track on what’s happening in systems and process developments by joining us on Wednesday 17 March 2010 in Central London.

You’ve told us that you want to get more involved in BT Wholesale’s system and process improvement plans and particularly at the early stages. A number of you have also said that you’re keen to work with us in a more intensive and collaborative way. So we’re taking a two-pronged approach to help put your requests into action.

Firstly, we’ve created a Systems & Processes Forum so that we can share information with you and look at release previews together. We launched this in January 2010 using a webinar and we now plan to hold these briefing events every 6-8 weeks, either as webinars or live face-to-face.

Secondly, as a parallel activity, we intend to run regular sessions throughout 2010 where you can give us your input into our designs early in the development process. These will be in the form of webinars or ‘mini hothouses’.

This month’s London meeting is the next in the Systems & Processes Forum series. So it’s your opportunity to hear what we’re doing to make our system and process functionality and interfaces work harder and better for you, looking in particular at our 21C broadband products, Wholesale Broadband Connect (WBC) and Wholesale Broadband Managed Connect (WBMC). We’re focusing on three key action plans for change – and we look forward to talking them through with you on the 17th. They are:

  • Giving you a better understanding of what’s happening each time we introduce new process/system improvements. We hope this will help you plan ahead more effectively and get the most from them.
  • Improving our specification documentation for new interfaces to make it more straightforward and clearer to understand. We hope this will help you build and evolve your own associated systems with greater confidence. Your feedback will be vital in getting the language and detail right.
  • Setting up a new problem-solving process so that we can identify, progress and resolve any early life failures or faults more quickly.
