Faster delivery date confirmation for 2MB Partial Private Circuits: new process on test

Placing an order for 2MB Partial Private Circuits (PCCs)? You could soon be getting confirmation of the delivery date up to six working days earlier.

It's part of a new system that we're currently testing to potentially shorten the leadtime on these PPCs. Malcolm Butler, BT Wholesale's General Manager - Service Assurance, comments: "The whole idea started with suggestion from a customer. We're reviewing all 2MB orders and - wherever possible - giving customers a Firm Order Confirmation (FOC) on Day 2* of the process instead of Day 8. That means you can have the delivery date in your hands much faster - and in turn can mean that you get your circuit faster too."

The trial started in August and is due to end this month. Malcolm continues: "It's very much a team effort, with people from Openreach, BT Operate, BT Design and BT Wholesale joining forces to monitor what happens and gauge how well it's working for customers. And we'll shortly be starting to analyse the results of the complete 3-month trial to help us decide on the best way forward."
